In a repeat of last year's Western Conference finals, the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are ready to meet again in the playoffs – only one round earlier.
Golden State beat Houston last year in seven games after a 3-2 record at WCF. If Chris Paul had not been hamstring injury afterwards in the fifth game, it is possible that the result would have been different. Instead, Paul missed the last two games of the series and the Warriors could come back to win.
This second-round semi-final could be more similar if both teams remained as healthy as possible. DeMarcus Cousins is already out of the series after suffering a quad injury in the first-round series of Golden State against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors received a sensational 50-point performance from star striker Kevin Durant in a decisive win in Game 6 of Series 6 Friday. Golden State will probably need the same if they want to send Houston to the semifinals of the Western Conference.
