According to several rumors in recent months, Motorola plans to release an updated version of its iconic Razr cell phone, but this time in the form of a smartphone. The Razr, of course, was a folding mobile phone and, considering the slow increase in the number of folding devices, it makes sense that Motorola plans to launch a folding smartphone in the new Razr line. A new leak makes what looks like this handset.

The leak comes from / LEAKS, which has released three images containing images of what the future Motorola Razr folding smartphone might look like. The design is clearly inspired by the Razr V3, a cellphone released in 2004 with great success. It should be noted the very large "chin" located under the touch screen, a design probably taken directly from the V3.

The picture shows a long thin smartphone with touch screen with a horizontal hinge in the middle of the screen, which allows to fold the smartphone into a hull form. The rounded upper edge fits perfectly to the large, lower chin, giving the phone the appearance of a classic Razr V3 when it is bent.

The chin is necessary, in this case, to provide a closed bottom edge when the apparatus is folded while keeping the outer face flush between the upper and lower halves. While there's no way to tell it apart, a Razr flip-top smartphone can use the big chin to house speakers, among other things.

The renderings do not allow to look at the front of the folded display – we see a hint of front camera, but there is no way to know if the model has a small screen. The device, assuming it is launched, should follow the V3 by offering an upgraded version of its preview display, which can come into contact to support fast actions.

Although consumers expect the foldable Razr to be a flagship device, a leak last month XDA developers The model will claim the Snapdragon 710 with memory and storage options combining 4GB / 64GB and 6GB / 128GB. The screen had a 6.20-inch OLED touch screen leakage of 876 x 2142 ; the secondary screen would have a resolution of 600 x 800.

The renderings follow the illustration of a Razr folding phone that Motorola had previously shared with the World Intellectual Property Organization:
