Winners and losers of the 2019 NFL draft from around the world

[ad_1]

The NFL 2019 project has arrived and gone. Each team made their best judgments, hoping to improve their teams and start making their way to the glory of the Super Bowl. As with every project, there are the teams that hit the park and others who were trying to pound square pegs in round holes. In other words, we have our winners and losers. This article features the AFC and NFC teams, as well as our 49ers from San Francisco!

Who are YOUR winners and losers in the NFL Draft in 2019? Please share in the comments below!

AFC winners

Patriots of New England

NFL: NFL Draft

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

I know I know. It makes me sick too. But let's be clear: the patriots of New England had a very bad project. The defending champions have met almost every need and, even if they failed to pick Greedy Williams in the second round, I fully recognize that they need to know something we do not know.

The writing of N'Keal Harry at the end of the first is not right. He dominated a lot of people at the receiver station, which says something because this class was deep. Joejuan Williams, the corner of Vanderbilt. matches the mold of the typical players that you usually see wandering around the New England high school. Alabama's former running back, Damien Harris, is a nice compliment for Sonny Michel. Oh, they have also recruited another quarterback who could be Tom Brady's replacement, but at this rate they can only start to spot the freshmen in high school because Brady – if he can will stay in the country for a long time. Jarrett Stidham, however, is very promising and literally in the best position possible for a young quarterback looking to learn how to play in the NFL.

Jacksonville Jaguars

NFL: NFL Draft

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Jaguars competed in the NFL 2019 draft with the need to add players who would be able to provide the production the team had been used to in recent seasons. Their style of play requires some type of player and, suffice it to say, Jacksonville got what they needed. Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen can rush the smuggler at an alarming speed and is also entitled to fall back into the blanket. The selection of the second round – offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor – was qualified by many talent in the first round and could very well be one of the few flights in the category this year. These two Jags selections work as usual, which should excite fans and staff alike. With Nick Foles now in the mix and Leonard Fournette bouncing off a disappointing year, we should really expect Jacksonville to fight for a playoff spot in 2019.

Buffalo Bills

NFL: NFL Draft

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

It's perhaps the beginning of the end when it comes to placing the Bills on the league's stock reap list. With their top two picks in the repechage, Buffalo said they continued to progress in the path of hard football that defined the team and the city for years.

At the same time last year, many of them had chosen Ed Oliver as the best hope for his class and, honestly, there was not a lot of hindsight between that time and now. He has the skills to become a potential All-Pro candidate later in his career and being coached by personalities such as Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier is only auspicious for his development. Look forward to Oliver and Cody Ford (Occupational Therapist, Oklahoma) being the anchors of their respective units for years to come.

Denver Broncos

NFL: NFL Draft

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The good thing about what John Elway did is he did not succeed. This is what we saw doing last year and it was not good at the moment. Denver originally had the 10th pick in the first round, but moved up to 20th place and grabbed Noah Fant – arguably one of the best offensive weapons of any class. It should have an immediate impact on the offense.

Things have improved for the Broncos who chose the Dalton Risner and QB Drew Lock governments of Kansas State and Missouri, respectively. Both players could easily have been selected in the middle and later parts of the first. Lock has ample time to learn the ins and outs of the professional profession, while Joe Flacco, newly acquired, keeps the course on next season. This team is only a few seasons removed from a Super Bowl and still has enough veterans on both sides of the ball to make a race to a wild card in 2019.

I also very much liked Dra'mont Jones' choice in the fourth round as it's someone who could become a disruptive presence along the defensive line. Overall, the Denver project had many "safe" selections with benefits, which is pretty much all you can ask for.

AFC Losers

Kansas City Chiefs

NFL: Pro Bowl

Steve Mitchell – USA TODAY & # 39; HUI Sports

Kansas City did not perform well during the repechage and it's not even entirely because of a bad decision they made. In the end, Tyreek Hill, the receiver of Star Wide, is exactly what we feared and, as a result, may not have a future on the NFL list, let alone that of the Chiefs. This is not a good start for a team that has just experienced a hot season during which we witnessed the greatness of a certain Patrick Mahomes.

Kansas City had no choice in the first round, so they are not on the clock before the second round. It was here that they took the alleged heir of Tyreek Hill to Mecole Hardman. It's not difficult to imagine seeing Hardman seeing a lot of offensive activity and coming back from flat kicks or kickoffs this season. This choice seems rather reactionary, because other players of the council could have contributed to fill other needs. Aside from Hardman, there is not much to write about KC draft class – which is not bad? But that's not good either.

Houston Texans

NFL: NFL Draft

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Like the aforementioned chiefs, the Texans were nothing. made this would suggest that they had a bad draft, but more so, so that bad things happened to them and they used plans B, C, D, and so on. One of Houston's top priorities in this draft was to get increased protection for franchise quarterback, Deshaun Watson, who, according to what we've all seen so far, is a transcendent talent who just needs to a little more protection if he wants him to take over. jump in his career. Houston had planned to tackle offensive tackle Andre Dillard before Philadelphia infiltrated the back and caught the future talent of the Pro Bowl.

That left them with Tytus Howard, which, again, is not a bad thing. But when you find yourself in a situation where you want to get a result and you end up with your second option (hell, maybe even the third or fourth), then that leaves a bad taste in the mouth, knowing that you could have had. better. It was an average project for a team that needed everything but an average project.

Tom Brady

NFL: Super Bowl LIII-New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Rams

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, the New England Patriots may have been first on the list of winners of the repechage, but that's not comforting, guys, the defenses of their division have improved a lot. And that should scare Tom Brady, who is old and definitely does not want to be touched by one of those young defensive players he will have to face several times each season for the rest of his career.

Quinnen Williams (New York Jets), Ed Oliver (Buffalo Bills) and Christian Wilkins (Miami Dolphins) are all extremely talented defensive linemen and will give nightmares to opposing quarterbacks. Yes, Tom Brady has 6 Super Bowls. He is great. We understood. These defenses are young and hungry, however. They are tall. They play very fast. They are stubborn. They are fed up that Tom Brady thinks he owns the world. Tom Brady, although his team has essentially reorganized and is ready for another race at the Super Bowl in 2019, should fear these young dollars from his own division. They are not going to facilitate his last years in the NFL.

NFC winners

Minnesota Vikings

NCAA Football: National Championship Playoff Championship - Clemson vs. Alabama

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY HUI Sports

The Vikings had to deal with the home offensive line and that's exactly what they did with center picks Garrett Bradbury and goalkeeper Dru Samia. Irv Smith Jr. brings great value as a mid-second round pick and can form a dynamic duet with Kyle Rudolph (if the team does not trade it). The selection of Kris Boyd in the seventh round has considerable value. I had it just outside the top 100 players. In total, the Vikings have recruited 12 players and probably have several starters who can help find this talented playoff formation in 2019.

Arizona Cardinals

Yes, faithful, our rivals are a winner in my book. It's not just Kyler Murray, but mostly the players they brought to help Murray. The Cardinals will be in reconstruction mode in 2019 and expectations will not be high. There will be growing pains, but you simply can not discuss the value they've got from some of the players they've selected. It was clear from the moment Kliff Kingsbury was named head coach, Kyler Murray became number one. Cardinals did what they had to do to get their guy. Getting Byron Murphy in the second round is a bargain. So is Hakeem Butler's wide receiver on day 3. Butler and Andy Isabella, along with KeeSean Johnson become intriguing weapons with Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald. Caleb Wilson and Steve Keim did a fantastic job surrounding his novice smuggler and head coach with weapons on the field. If Deionte Thompson can prove that skeptics are wrong about his knee history, then this draft class could very well speed up the reconstruction in the desert faster than we think. Josh Rosen's trade has built a successful weekend for red birds in Nashville.

Washington Redskins

Big Ten Championship - Northwestern v Ohio State

I guess it depends on your point of view on the quarterbacks. My feeling is that the Redskins have had the most professional smuggler in this preliminary class (do not worry, Giants, we'll get back to you soon!). The future of Alex Smith is at best cloudy and Case Keenum can start with the post but does not hang on for a long time, maybe not even at all. Jay Gruden is in the hot seat and must make the best choice to determine who will lead his attack. Speaking of offense, the team got great value for money with Kelvin Harmon in the sixth round. Terry McLaurin is one of the most professional receivers of this draft and Bryce Love can form a two-headed monster with Derrius Guice (Remember him?) Who will come back from a torn ACL. Ride Sweat was my best pass behind Nick Bosa. The Redskins have suffered too many injuries along the offensive line and have done a great job adding more depth and competition to middle round picks, Wes Martin and Ross Pierschbacher. If Gruden gets his quarterback choice, the Redskins could compete in the NFC East. Gruden could simply save his job.

Philadelphia Eagles

NFL Draft

To get into this project, aside from Nick Bosa, if I had a player constantly tied to a team, it was Andre Dillard with the Houston Texans. The Eagles did not receive this memo and instead jumped on the Texans and took Dillard under their eyes. The tip of the hat to you Philly. Dillard is also meeting an important need for the Eagles and Carson Wentz, who must play a full and healthy season, especially because a most useful Super Bowl player is no longer there to replace him. Miles Sanders may well be at the origin of this team's lack of starting points for two seasons, while he will be fighting for touches with the recently acquired Chicago Howard of the Chicago Bears. Wentz has had more weapons with the selection of J.J. Arcega-Whiteside who will add another dimension to an offense already rich in talent. Oh yes, since the Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles, is now with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a new backup is needed and they've gotten it with professional-style shipper Clayton Thorson. Let's hope that the only thing Thorson will hold is a clipboard. The Eagles had only 5 choices, but they met all the needs of alignment to just one year of the year of the Super Bowl. It's a victory in my book.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFL Draft

Photo of Andy Lyons / Getty Images

Here is a first possible … An offensive head coach is hired and the top five choices are for the defensive side of the ball. After losing Kwon Alexander to the 49ers, the Bucs chose the best linebacker in the draft Devin White. The new defensive coordinator, Todd Bowles, who is back with Bruce Airans after their stays in Arizona, has acquired several half-corners in Sean Bunting and Jamel Dean, as well as security Mike Edwards, who are tall and skinny … exactly what Bowles wants in his man rug program that puts pressure on the quaterback. Anthony Nelson will create depth and competition along the defensive line and give Bowles another rushing option. You can argue that the team should have attacked the offense more, but it's clear that Arians, one of the brightest offensive minds in the game, believes in Jameis Winston and offensive weapons already in place.

NFC Losers

New York Giants

My God, Dave Gettleman, it will be an offseason for the ages. After serving the talent defense, I really did not think you could make a worse decision after exchanging Odell Beckham Jr. for a unique first-round pick, a third-round pick, and a tough Jabrill Peppers. Yet, you have still found a way to surpass yourself by selecting Daniel Jones as the quarterback of the future. It's not that I do not like Daniel Jones, it's Gettleman's rating of Jones as part of the top 10. I do not think Jones was a first choice. I understand, a lot of quarterbacks are written before their honest value, but Jones is simply a scratcher of the head. Dexter Lawrence will be an excellent nose tackle, but again, not one of the top 20 talents. Was Darius Slayton really the best that they could do to the receiver in a completed draft? Sterling Shepherd, Darius Slayton and Golden Tate … scary, I know. I like the cornerback selections in DeAndre Baker and Julian Love. Baker will be a contributor and Love also has potential. After Baker and Love, there is simply nothing more to love in this rough draft. Gettleman may have retained this team instead of playing in an open division of the NFC East.

Detroit Lions

Here is the contract with the Lions. I do not hate their choices, in fact, I really like some of the moves they made this weekend. T.J. Hockenson will be a starter and one of the best tight ends of the last two decades. Many of these choices bring depth to the list. However, I just do not know which direction the team wants to take. Usually, after the free time and the project, you have an idea of what a team will try to execute at the next kickoff, but the Lions always leave me puzzled. All Lion fans reading this, help me. What is the vision of your team with your very expensive quarterback and the alignment that surrounds it? In a very competitive NFC North, Lions are still in 4th place … coughing … coughing … last place. That makes them a loser for this project.

Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons - Carolina Panthers

I may get negative feedback on this, but I did not like the draft Falcons this year. Chris Lindstrom was a big litter in the middle of the first round and instead of attacking a decisive pass, they chose the Kaleb McGary tackle after signing two offensive linemen. I am very good at approaching the line of scrimmage, especially on the offensive side of the ball. This is where the games are won. Although the Falcons chose defenseman John Cominsky, I felt that the position should have been settled earlier in the second day. Again, I was on the fence with the Falcons and I understand if some may not agree with this assessment. I guess two halves were chosen with the departure of Tevin Coleman? The saints are the southern class. Did the Falcons do enough to win a wild card in 2019? We'll see if everything goes well for Dan Quinn and his company.

What's the verdict for the San Francisco 49ers?

NFL Draft

Photo of Andy Lyons / Getty Images

Alex Eisen:

I will not be biased … I promise. The San Francisco 49ers have won their project with their first two selections that I believe will instantly improve their respective football teams. Nick Bosa, who in my opinion was the best player in this category, will be a talented defensive and will also improve the team's side club. The business figures occur when there is an initial pressure. As Nick Bosa said, "You can not team up with us all," and "We" being Bosa, Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, Solomon Thomas, and Arik Armstead. If this line of defense can remain healthy, it can be a deadly unit. It can also make the secondary group a dangerous group. None of this happens without Bosa in the picture. As for Samuel Deebo, I repeat … He is one of the most professional and most physical receivers of this draft. It catches passes reliably and can be dangerous in open ground. The 49ers doubled the receiver and found a threat in the red zone at Jalen Hurd (maybe a lap or two too high?). According to Kyle Shanahan, although Hurd has been designated as a receiver, it can be used in another way … Tight End maybe? I will not try to sell someone on the choice of a fourth round bettor. All I can say is that the team lost Bradly Pinion, and the special teams are a bit of a big problem, and this team needed a bettor. That's where I'll stop with the bettor. Tim Harris is that long and lean corner that the team desires. Will there be a response to the CB2 spot? It's a seventh round pick, so your assumption is as good as mine. Dr. Greenlaw adds depth to a unit that is getting stronger day by day. It's not Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman is still scary, but the arrow is pointing up. Kaden Smith will learn from George Kittle and may be in TE2. It brings depth and competition to the position. Overall, I did not like all the choices. It was not at all the perfect draft. They are certainly too cute with some selections, but the 49ers got impact players and are WINNERS in my book, and the list is better than it has been for a long time.

Josh Eccles:

Alex nailed it on the head, guys. It will be interesting to see how Nick Bosa relates to San Francisco – the team and the city as a whole. He has already done his part and showed no hesitation in answering questions about his past behavior on social media. It will be interesting to see how he will continue to deal with such issues because I am sure that they will continue to come.

The selection Deebo Samuel, for me, is perhaps the one that places this offense above all else. Dante Pettis has already shown that he is a demon when it comes to making ridiculous opponent defenders. Deebo (I affectionately call him as such from now on) has many of these traits and skills and that's right, wow. It's exciting. Imagine Pettis and Deebo turning the cornerbacks into a circle and George Kittle just sowing chaos in the middle of the field. It'll be fun, believe me.

A final winner …

Nashville! All I can say is JOB WELL DONE! The scene in downtown Nashville seemed exciting and electric!

Las Vegas … You are at the clock!
