(There are future spoilers for "Avengers: Endgame." These are just regular spoilers, not like mega, but still, you've been warned.
We are still waiting for Marvel Studios to unveil its plans for the next phase of its cinematic universe – we will probably have to wait for Comic-Con to get real information on the coming years. But for now, at least, we have some clues to choose from in Avengers: Endgame. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in particular gets a scene late in the film where he pronounces a line that could indicate a big change for one of the MCU's film series.
As "Avengers: Endgame" draws to a close, a moment of lightheartedness so badly needed after so many punches come when Thor leaves New Asgard on Earth and gets caught in unknown areas of the Guardians of the Galaxy. As they prepare to leave, Thor jokingly qualifies the group of "Asgardians of the Galaxy", which led to a fun exchange with Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) on the identity of the person who really leads the team.
While the name "Asgardians of the Galaxy" in "Avengers: Endgame" has primarily served as a fun word game – and probably also put Thor in Guardian's starring role in "Guardians of the Galaxy," Vol. 3 "- in comics, it's actually a team of existing superheroes, and the reference could allude to a fun new extension of the Guardians.

Created by Cullen Bunn and Matteo Lolli, the Asgardians of the Galaxy form a team of characters, yes, Asgardians (or adjacent to Asgard) who made their debut last summer in the first issue of their own eponymous series.
Formed after the breakup of Guardians of the Galaxy in the scenario "Infinity Countdown" of Marvel – much too complicated to summarize here, but it should be noted that Star Lord has become the guardian of the Power Stone, somehow – the Asgardians gather to fill "the team of powerful space heroes ready to join hands to save the universe".
Good thing too, because the wicked Nebula had forced the Nidavellir dwarves to make it a formidable weapon of the Asgardians, then kill them all but one. And then she tore the nails and nails of the bodies of their corpses to build a fleet of Naglfar ships.
Nagflar, by the way, is the boat of the Nordic myth that transports the souls of Hel so that they fight against the gods during Ragnarok. You can see where this is going: Nebula is trying to bring the end of time to Asgard.

This is where the Asgardians of the Galaxy come in. They are assembled by Angela, sister of Thor, long lost (herself a former member of the Guardians), who recruits:
– Brunnhilde, AKA Valkyrie, the powerful Asgardian warrior who previously served with The Defenders and The Secret Avengers among other groups, who currently shares this plan of existence with:
– Annabelle Riggs. It's complicated, but basically, the same situation that Thor had with his human hosts. In addition to being able to change places with Valkyrie, Annabelle is also a talented scientist.
– Kevin Masterson, aka Thunderstrike. Son of Thor's former host, Eric Masterson, he uses an enchanted mass that gives him powers adjacent to Thor.
– Skurge the executioner. The former Asgardian, supervillain turned hero, has recently escaped from the beyond.
– Throg, the frog of thunder. Formerly a human named Simon Walterson, Throg was turned into a real frog by a witch revenge. He settles in a frog kingdom of Central Park and, during some wacky adventures, comes into possession of a tiny piece of Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, which he turns into his own weapon. , Frogjolnir, which gives him super powers like Thor.

And finally
– The destroyer. A combination of walking and conversation in remote-controlled armor – which is secretly used by:
– Kid Loki. The reincarnation of Loki who is not a villain, but who remains the god of malice and also untrustworthy that a person can be and remains fundamentally good.
Also, fun fact: they fly in a spaceship powered by a bifrost fragment.
They have had some crazy adventures in their ongoing series and are currently involved in Marvel's "War of the Realms" crossover event.
Of course, we have no idea if the name of the team was anything other than a fun joke after very intense moments of "End of Game". But if a version of the team appears in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 "- or (someone at Taika Waititi on the phone) their own derivative film – it will be very different from comics.

Not only because Thor is not a member of Asgardians of the Galaxy in comics. In the films, Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson, has no human alter ego and is also currently the ruler of Asgard. Poor Skurge (played by Karl Urban) sacrificed himself to save the remaining Asgardian civilians at the end of "Thor: Ragnarok", Thor destroyed the Destroyer at the end of the first film "Thor", Loki (Tom Hiddleston ) is also dead and has not been resuscitated in adolescence, and there is no version of Thunderstrike yet.
In addition, Nebula (played by Karen Gillan) is now a hero and a full member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. And more criminally, there is no Throg.
But what do you know? It's never too late to bring a frog with Thor's powers into the Marvel film world. Seriously, Marvel, continue.
As we have not heard of a fourth film "Thor", and with Thor joining the Guardians and Valkyrie as the surviving Asgardians, it seems quite possible that the third "Guardians of the Galaxy" could integrate the Asgardians in general. than just Thor. But with new director James Gunn linked to DC's "Suicide Squad" for a while, the next movie "Guardians" is probably still far away. This leaves us quite too much time to speculate on what it means that Thor abandoned this reference "Asgardians of the Galaxy" at the end of "Avengers: Endgame".
