Six hours and 50 minutes of GoT …
By Jessie Wade
The last season of Game of Thrones is in progress and, with only six episodes against 10, we have less time in Westeros than ever before. Despite this, the episodes of season 8 are among the longest in the history of the series.
So, how long do episodes of Game of Thrones Season 8 last? The premiere of season 8 was the shortest episode of the season, with 54 minutes, while the duration of episode 2 was less than an hour – but episode 3 of the season 8 will be the longest episode of Game of Thrones at one hour and 22 minutes. The so-called "Battle of Winterfell" would be the longest battle scene in the history of pop culture, and many of our Game of Thrones characters should die – these are our predictions for the Battle of Winterfell.
The spoilers of season 8, episode 3, have also filtered online via photos and screenshots. So be careful if you want to participate in the Battle of Winterfell Unsullied.
As HBO had already revealed in March, the last three episodes will last about an hour and 20 minutes. HBO always keeps the titles of the season 8 episodes hidden until they are aired, so as to avoid disclosing in advance the details of the plot regarding the new season.

Original story follows.
The run times for the six episodes of Game of Thrones Season 8 would have been released by HBO via their unique live URLs on the HBO programming site.
Winter Is Coming noticed that HBO had released its programming schedule for the first two episodes of Season 8, with a duration of 54 and 58 minutes each.
The site then found that the user Noselessman on Disqus had discovered that it was possible to modify the URLs by modifying the numbers of each episode number, in which a page appears revealing each episode and the duration of the season 8.
The run times announced for the six episodes of Season 8 are as follows:
- Season 8 Episode 1 – 54 minutes
- Season 8 Episode 2 – 58 minutes
- Season 8 Episode 3 – 60 minutes
- Season 8 Episode 4 – 78 minutes
- Season 8 Episode 5 – 80 minutes
- Season 8 Episode 6 – 80 minutes
The duration of the season 8 will lengthen as the course of the season, but it is not uncommon for Game of Thrones. The season 7 finale has come close to 80 minutes, which is the longest episode of Game of Thrones to date.
In total, the run times are equal to six hours and 50 minutes, which, according to Newsweek, is even shorter than the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
