Inspired by a Recent viral Tweet by Andy Bush, I want to know which games Kotaku the readers finished first. Was it a massive RPG? A little platform game? An action game? A shooter from the 90s?
The first game I beat was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The movie on Sega Genesis. It was a moment when you controlled the Power Rangers and fought waves of enemies. You must also sometimes control their Zord, a giant villain. These segments were very boring because only one player controlled the mech. We would therefore argue over who was best able to fight as a mech. It was usually me, I was older, but honestly, I was not much better.
One day, I think it was later in the evening, we were sitting in the living room playing. Something clicked. The final fight took place on the moon (because the video games of the '90s were amazing) and I remember my heart beating hard as I fought alone the final boss as a giant robot. Then suddenly I won. My robot jumped out of the moon and text passed and the game was over.
It was strange. I remember that at the time I was excited, we had won and finished the game, but I also remember being sad. Wait, I thought, is that it? More game to play? We ended up playing again the next day, but I do not remember to beat him again and I will always remember it was the first game I ever finished.
What was the first game you finished?
