Colorado Avalanche 4, San Jose Sharks 3: The Sharks stand out by the Colorado stars in Game 2

At the beginning of the second game, you would have been almost sure that the Sharks were off to sweep their second home round and set against the Avalanche. San Jose was skating circles around their opponents, dominating the ball and Evander Kane had charged Colorado after being left open to a rebound from Brent Burns and pass in front of Philipp Grubauer, sending the Teal team to the locker room after the first -0 lead.

But in the second half, Colorado's big names proved that even the best teams can not hold the talent locks forever. Gabriel Landeskog tied the game by deflecting a Tyson Barrie shot over Martin Jones. Barrie would take the lead early in the second on a perfect shot that went from crossbar to goal.

Brent Burns would win pot two at the end of the game, including one with ten seconds to go, but an empty net from Nathan MacKinnon had put the game out of reach 35 seconds earlier.

It's no secret that to win the Stanley Cup you have to get pointers from all your lineups. And in the first match, Friday, against the Colorado Avalanche, the Sharks had exactly that.

Pete DeBoer's third line, consisting of Joe Thornton, Marcus Sorensen and Kevin Labanc, is allied for a five-point night, getting the first game of their semifinal series with the Avalanche. But while the Sharks' depth was in the first game, they will need a similar result tonight if they want to master a Colorado team that has no problem starting a series from behind.
