Moments earlier, Chance Blue and Skylar Weaver were waiting in the backseat while their great-grandmother was laying a family member in a hospital in Middletown, Ohio on Thursday afternoon. About 10 seconds after Nita Coburn left the car on the run, the kids started screaming when a man jumped into the driver's seat and began to pick up speed.
But the car hijacker was not expecting the witty spirit of Chance, 8, who is now celebrated for saving his older sister from a possible kidnapping.

The 8-year-old boy reminded the WCPO of how the driver, 24-year-old Dalvir Singh, had jumped into the car, which his great-grandmother had left in front of the Atrium medical center, and had knocked on the door. ; gasoline. Chance quickly opened the rear passenger door, trying to create enough space for him and his sister to escape from the moving car.

Singh was clinging to Skylar's hoodie, plunging the 10-year-old girl in the midst of a terrifying showdown between her 8-year-old brother and a 24-year-old stranger.
Miraculously, the boy won and the brother and sister got out of the car, the police said.
"I fell and ran to the car and took out my sister," Chance told WCPO.
At first, their great-grandmother did not think the children had escaped. Their cries drew the attention of 69-year-old Coburn, who headed for the car with "the most morbid feeling of the world", knowing that the kids were still inside. She said that she had seen Singh sitting near the entrance to the emergency room, but that she did not think much about it. Now she pursued him frantically as he took off in his car with his great-grandchildren.
"My grandmother came out and grabbed the car, and he just kept opening and closing the door to try to remove it," Skylar said.
Not knowing that Chance and Skylar had escaped through the back door, Coburn hooked on the car until Singh accelerated to the point of not being able to keep up the pace.
"I will not let go of the door handle and he will drug me," Coburn told WKRC. She added, "I ate blacktop. I went down very brutally. I bounced.
The brother and sister, who were slightly injured during the incident, thanked their great-grandmother for taking part in the action.
"She would probably die for us," Chance told FOX 19. "She loves us."
When Chance became free, he ran inside the hospital to report car hijacking to safety, reported WKRC. Singh did not realize it because he parked the stolen car a few miles away.
"Good Morning America" reported that Singh was under the influence of heroin and was in the hospital for treatment. He is now charged with two counts of kidnapping, robbery and criminal assault "for dragging Nita," the police said. He is in custody on a $ 200,000 bail, according to WCPO. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
Muterspaw, the chief of police, remarked that Chance's instinct was "incredible at his age."
"He took his sister out of the car without worrying about his own safety," Muterspaw said.
The Middletown Police Officer, Connor Kirby, one of the police officers who apprehended Singh, echoed his boss.
"While I was talking to him, I look at him and it's just that little boy who did something extraordinary," Kirby told the WKRC. He added to WCPO: "It shows how extremely courageous he was and how much he loved his sister."
On social networks, residents congratulated the police and expressed their support for the family.

When Coburn sat at the end of last week to review the near-abduction surveillance footage, Coburn said she still could not believe what she was seeing on film.
