Developer Gearbox Software has accidentally leaked an excerpt of the game "Borderlands 3" before its official unveiling on Wednesday May 1 around the world, according to the ResetEra games forum.
The video (visible here) was apparently posted by a Gearbox Twitch account and quickly removed. It seems that the streamer was testing the game's new ECHOcast Twitch expansion, which will be launched alongside the unveiling of the gameplay on Wednesday. It gives viewers the ability to recover loot in the game when their favorite banners open up some rare chests. However, they will need to associate a SHiFT account with their Twitch account to use this feature. They will only have 30 seconds to register for the event. Any spoils they will catch will appear in the game's mailbox and will be staggered at their level.
Although the 26-second clip is not really revealing, ResetEra fans have noticed some interesting information. The loot now seems to have some sort of speed similar to that found in games like "Destiny 2." It also looks like the Claptrap character has a new voice. Which is great news or terrible news, depending on how you felt about the incredibly annoying robot at the first games.
"Borderlands 3" was officially announced at PAX East last month. It will be launched on September 13 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version will be available exclusively on Epic Games Store until April 2020.
