Members of the winning team of Baylor University's Lady Bears basketball team feasted on Monday at the White House: McDonald's classic buffet, Chick-fil-A, Wendy's and Burger King.
President Trump hosted the star athletes at the Oval Office to celebrate their victory in the NCAA Division I 2019 Championship, after defeating Notre Dame 82-81 earlier this month. The opportunity was the first women's basketball team – academic or professional – to visit the Trump White House.
As USA Today noted, the official visit of Texas colleagues was a return to tradition. None of the previous two NCAA Women's Basketball Teams visited the DC as none of the WNBA winners received invitations.
"It's a thrilling victory that people will be talking about for many more years," said the president about the big game. "You have left a lasting mark in the history of college basketball."

The players offered Trump a signed basketball, a national championship cup and a Baylor basketball jersey numbered 1.
"It may not be the right size," joked longtime coach Kim Mulkey. "[First lady] Melania may look better. "
According to images shared on social media by the basketball team, the feast apparently included Whoppers, Quarter Pounders, Chicken McNuggets and more.
"Enjoy your stay at the State Dining Room! #SicEm, "wrote Lady Bears representatives on Twitter.
The commentators, meanwhile, were far less impressed by the menu.

"So disrespectful. Hard work and achievements deserve to be honored, "a critic applauded.
"When your incredible accomplishment is just another line of typing. Sigh, nodded another.
"It is ridiculous and a terrible example for future athletes," said one of them. "There is not even a salad or fruit to accompany this overheated and absolutely virgin fast food."
"Congratulations on your victory, sorry for serving you fast food in the White House," laughed another.
A supporter, meanwhile, defended the benevolent nature of the event, in a broader sense.
"Now for the rest of the world, was it so difficult or so bad? A team that has accomplished something special has made a unique trip to the White House to celebrate this feat, "said a fan. "It's all, no politics."
