Uber apologizes after posting a Twitter account on Twitter, which tells a racial insult

It seems that every time I turn around, Uber is in the news for all the wrong reasons. The head of human resources has resigned from the way the complaints of discrimination have been treated badly, from various charges of assault, from all this #DeleteUber fiasco and many other things that I do not have time to report. Still, their last misstep could be their worst so far.

On Monday, Uber's official Twitter account had the following exchange with user @realTheeCheney:

Yuck.

And yes, it says "Nigger".

But alas, everything is not what it seems.

According to Mashable, apparently, the person behind the account @realTheeCheney feverishly followed Uber on Twitter, thirsty for a random answer.

This seems all the more likely when you look at the @realTheeCheney account, which consists mainly of MAGA monitoring and screenshots of other Twitter users turning brand accounts into tweet of racist responses. . For example, if the @realTheeCheney account had a full name with the link, it changed it after receiving Uber's reply, a bot reply from @Uber_Support citing the full name could then read as the screenshot tweet deleted above.

MAGA's Twitter troll shot a bait and triggered an automated message.

But even if that's the case, I'll need Uber to pay more attention to its filters so that totally avoidable situations like these will not happen again in the future.

In response to the incident, Uber said the following:

"We would like to apologize sincerely for the offensive tweet sent earlier," they tweeted. "We are investigating what has happened to make sure this does not happen again."

Not entirely confirmation that the situation is fully resolved, but I guess we will all have to wait and see. Or send them a tweet and find out.
