Stuart Varney: "Jeopardy!" star James Holzhauer is not a "threat"

I am Stuart Varney and here is "My Take".

"James Holzhauer is a threat to 'Jeopardy!'

Really?

It was the title of an opinion piece published Monday by the Washington Post.

What nonsense.

The writer has a problem with James Holzhauer, the man who wins night after night. He earned $ 1.3 million. Maybe Lane was writing a kind of "tongue in cheek".

STUART VARNEY: THANKS TO TRUMP, AMERICANS CONVENT BETTER FINANCIALERS

Lane's critics are based on the following: "The Holzhauer series reflects the dark competition based on the data." He says: "Holzhauer substitutes the maximization of the probability of cold calculation to the spontaneous game". Ok, so he has a strategy. A winning strategy. What's wrong with that ?!

Holzhauer first chooses the most difficult questions, which is why he earns the most money.

He changes his category to keep his opponents off guard.

And he looks for the double daily that allows him to maximize his earnings. That's his strategy.

It works, he is a professional player in Las Vegas and he knows how to calculate odds. On five occasions, he set the record for one night's winnings.

But all this strategy, all these calculations are useless if you do not answer the questions correctly. The Washington Post author thinks that "Jeopardy" is not fun these days because of Holzhauer's incessant victories.

Sorry, I find that exciting. And I take my hat off to anyone who knows as much as he does, is as fast as he is and is dedicated to victory. This is an american!

It's "my catch".
