A woman tries to deceive her boyfriend by making him drink Drano during an attempted murder, police say

A woman from Utah poisoned her boyfriend with Drano because she wanted him to go into an "eternal sleep," according to police.

She Weissman, 43, was charged with attempted murder after allegedly instigating her boyfriend to drink Drano drain cleaning water by telling her that it was her medicine, police said in a statement. a statement on Thursday.

The charges were revealed Monday when the woman's 50-year-old boyfriend arrived at an emergency treatment center in Salt Lake City, where he was treated for symptoms of poisoning.

Weissman told medical staff that she had "given her resident boyfriend Drano for him to fall asleep forever," according to the South Salt Lake City Police Department.

Weissman was incarcerated in Salt Lake County Jail for attempted murder and surreptitious administration of some substance.

She was detained on bail of $ 100,000 Friday morning.
