Philipp Grubauer The Colorado Avalanche was a great success in the fourth game of his second-round series against the San Jose Sharks. The 27-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived in the Av in a Washington Capitals summer trade, made 32 saves in his first playoff playoff victory.

In nine playoff games with Avalanche, Grubauer posted a 2.17 goals-against average and a .993 save percentage. Petr Mrazek of the Hurricanes is the only goaltender with two shutouts and Capitals Braden Holtby is one of four goalies tied with a shutout.
The most impressive backup of Grubauer was this beauty in the second period against Sharks forward Gustav Nyquist.

Olie Kolzig, from the Capitals, was born in South Africa to German parents. She played for the German national team and was an idol of Grubauer's growth. Kolzig has had six playoff shutouts in his NHL career and has worked with Grubauer as a Capitals Associate Coach.
The Avalanche will play the fifth game Saturday in San Jose. The series is currently even at 2-2.
