American Airlines must open its direct line between Charles M. Schulz Airport-Sonoma County and Los Angeles International Airport on Friday as part of the summer service expansion.

Round trip flights with advance booking cost $ 160 before taxes and baggage fees. Passengers are entitled to free carry-on luggage. Checked baggage costs $ 30 for the first bag and $ 40 for the second bag.

The new route will compete with Alaska Airlines, the airport's leading commercial carrier, which already has three daily flights between Sonoma County and LAX. Roundtrip tickets currently cost $ 177 with prior reservation. The Seattle-based airline has the same policy with respect to cabin baggage and checked baggage.

American Airlines, which has been offering non-stop service from Santa Rosa to Phoenix-Sky Harbor International since February 2017, will begin its seasonal route to Dallas-Fort Worth International on June 6th. A round trip is available for as little as $ 317 (before fees).
