Report: suspect detained after closing two colleges

Officials said that a suspect had been arrested and detained by police after two North Carolina colleges ordered the closure of several cells in response to a gunman's complaint about the drug. 39, one of the campuses.

The North Carolina A & T State University of Greensboro issued an alert Friday, claiming that a man had threatened to shoot a student. A & T announced shortly after 3pm that a suspect had been arrested and his isolation had been lifted.

Bennett College, a nearby women's college, initiated its lockout in response to A & T. It also lifted its lockdown.

There were no immediate reports of gunshots or injuries.

The lockdowns occurred three days after an armed man opened fire in a classroom at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, killing two students and wounding four others.
