Fortnite publishes its competitive decision (XXiF) and update it at the weekend

Fortnite publishes its decision on the deception scandal of the World Cup. Many competitors do not think it goes far enough.

The Fortnite competitive team has published an article on its blog detailing its decision on the alleged fraud of the professional player XXiF, among other topics.

All players involved were excluded from the Fortnite competition for 14 days and lost all their prizes for the third week qualifying, including qualifying received by XXiF.

The fact that Epic exposed and punished cheaters is a good thing, but a 14-day ban is not enough to guarantee that XXiF and the other players involved will not cheat on their return.

Even if they do not cheat when they are reinstated, it does not seem fair to them that proven cheats could potentially qualify for the Fortnite World Cup.

Professional gamers and content creators are not entirely happy with Epic 's decision, which seems to be a slap for a tournament worth millions of dollars.

Epic also addressed some of the most prominent bugs that affected Fortnite. Due to clips and reports, they have "accelerated" the following issues:

  • Restart Van's spawning problems.

    • We discovered an error in which players could reappear if the reboot did not completely complete the channelized interaction of the restart. This bug also caused the game to eliminate players restarted after a few seconds. We have temporarily disabled the restart truck in competitive mode to avoid potential scoring problems while working on a solution.
    • With your help, we have corrected and restarted the restart truck in all modes of competition. The restart van is now operating as planned; if the reboot is eliminated while attempting to restart a teammate, the restart will stop and fail and both players are eliminated.
  • HLOD textures fail to load completely in inclined turns, retail lines, and polar peaks.

    • This was brought to our attention and corrected early Saturday morning.
    • We continue to monitor this operation carefully. Please continue to contact her if you encounter texture issues in Fortnite.
  • Players are unable to build after gliding.

    • We discovered a problem preventing players from building after a glider.
    • We managed to replicate this bug internally and have included a patch in a future release (targeting v9.00).
  • Turbo building issues.

    • Thanks to your help, we discovered a bug with Turbo Build that seemed linked to certain network conditions preventing readers from creating images for a few images.
    • We've implemented a fix on 5/1 that we think will help solve this problem in most network conditions, but we still can not be sure we've resolved all the incidents. We will closely monitor the patch to make sure the problem is resolved. Please let us know if you encounter additional problems.
