It's time for a new monthly review of auto sales in the United States. Surprisingly, more than a million people still buy the equivalent of the twenty-first century of horses each month. However, I think the most interesting solution is to quickly go through companies and automotive divisions and identify those that have seen their sales fall (compared to the same month in 2018).

Tesla Model 3 is at the center of the automobile. It is the only electric vehicle currently marketed in the mass market that keeps many customers away from its Gasmobile competitors. I am often curious to know which competitors are the most affected and what they are going to do about it. That said, a broader context is still important and it is well known that people are also moving from cars to SUVs and crossover vehicles. So keep that in mind when comparing the numbers.

Unfortunately, there are a handful of companies that do not share the monthly figures: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, GM and Tesla. Hmm, interesting – it's just me that these are the top 4 American builders. (Ford and GM shared their monthly sales figures, but stopped doing so last year.) We have to wait until the beginning of the next quarter before we can review the sales of these companies again, but you can consult first quarter sales. reports here, here, here and here.

Businesses and automotive divisions saw their sales fall in April 2019 compared with April 2018:

Acura -2%
Acura cars -17%
Audi -21%
Audi Cars -27%
BMW Cars -18%
Honda Cars -2%
Infiniti -5%
Kia Cars -11%
Lexus -1%
Lexus Cars -15%
Mercedes -16%
Mercedes Cars -16%
Toyota -4%
Toyota Cars -14%
Volvo Cars -26%

Businesses and automotive divisions saw their sales increase in April 2019 compared to April 2018:

BMW 1%
Hyundai 1%
Hyundai cars 6%
Infiniti Cars 5%
Kia 2%
Nissan ten%
Nissan Cars 7%
Subaru 8%
Volkswagen 9%
Volkswagen Cars 1%

Once again, most of Tesla's premium class competitors have been crushed. In addition, the best sellers Toyota and Honda have been affected. In contrast, Hyundai, Nissan and Volkswagen performed particularly well and BMW gained 1% overall.

Overall, the top 5 most sold cars in the United States saw their combined sales fall massively in April 2019 compared to April 2018. In terms of cumulative sales, 6 of the 7 best-selling cars saw their sales fall, while that others (Honda Accord) has a 0% change.

The thing that shocks me, to be honest, is that people are most continue to buy cars, crossovers and crappy SUVs and are asleep at the superiority of Teslas. Most of the time, there is a simple reason for this: people know very little about Tesla vehicles and have often digested misinformation. People are not aware that Tesla vehicles are much safer, much faster, that they have a better information system and that their driving assistance functions are much better.

People do not know that a Tesla Model 3 is even cheaper than a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry, although it is ~ 1000 × more fun. People are not aware that a Tesla Model 3 costs about half the price of a BMW 320i over 5 years, but remains about 733 × more fun.

Will consumers learn? At the hour. It will be interesting to watch and document the public as the public realizes the superiority of well-designed electric vehicles. In the meantime, you have to feel a bit bad for all those who are still buying Camrys, Chords, Civics, Corollas, Sentras, Altimas, Elantras, BMWs, Audis, Acuras and other Crapmobiles.

You want to buy a Tesla model 3, model S or model X? Need a reference code to get 1,000 miles of free overfeed? Use our: http://ts.la/tomasz7234 (or use the other if it has helped you more).
