Mueller should testify before Congress on May 15

SSpecial advocate Robert Mueller is scheduled to testify before the Judiciary Committee of the House this month.

The representative of David Cicilline, D-RE, said in "Fox News Sunday" that May 15 was set for Mueller to appear before the committee.

"A tentative date has been set for May 15 and we hope the special council will appear," Cicilline said. "We think the American people have the right to hear directly from him."

The announcement comes after an intense debate between Democrats on the report of Mueller, which they say shows an obstacle to justice.

Attorney General William Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last Wednesday but did not appear before the Judiciary Committee of the House the next day. Barr cited unreasonable terms imposed on him by House leaders, including President Jerrold Nadler, NS, who wanted the Democratic and Republican councils to be able to question him.

Although the date is "tentative", Cicilline said he will wait for the appearance of Mueller, who spent 22 months investigating President Trump's alleged links with Russia.

"The White House has so far indicated that it will not interfere in Mr. Mueller's attempts to testify," said a Congressman Sunday.

This would be the first time Mueller has testified before Congress since the publication of his 448-page report last month.
