For the first time in the 145-year history of the Kentucky Derby, the winning horse was disqualified for interference. President Donald Trump did not agree with the decision of the shop stewards.
"The decision in the Kentucky Derby was not good," Trump wrote on twitter. "It was a tough race on a wet, slippery track, making it a beautiful thing to watch. Such a reversal is possible only in these days of politically correct. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby – not even close! "
The decision in the Kentucky Derby was not good. It was a tough race on a wet and slippery track, in fact, a beautiful thing to watch. Such a reversal is possible only in these days of politically correct. The best horse did NOT win the Kentucky Derby – not even close!

The horse, Maximum Safety, was disqualified after a 22-minute debate between the three stewards, who finally made the unanimous decision to nominate the country's second ranked horse, Country House, as the winner after reviewing the replay from different angles.
The horse racing journalist and rider, Kevin Blake, also shared his opinion on Twitter: "A tough decision to make in the Kentucky Derby, but would it also be questioned if the incident had resulted in the fall of War of Will and caused carnage? "

In an interview with Associated Press, Maximum Security's owner, Gary West, said he could appeal.
"I think it's the most egregious disqualification from the history of horse racing, and not just because it's our horse," said West.
According to the Kentucky Derby website, the first Derby winner to be disqualified was in 1968 for being tested positive for an illegal drug after the race.
This was the first disqualification for interference.
