The directors of "Avengers: Endgame", Joe and Anthony Russo, have hinted that a gay Marvel character would be identified in an upcoming episode of the movie franchise.
The duo discussed Joe Russo's screen role in the film during an appearance on "EW Morning Live," which the director confirmed as "the first overtly gay character." Weekly entertainment reported Wednesday.

He portrayed a participant in group therapy who detailed a busy date with another man, his first since the disappearances at the end of "Avengers: Infinity War."
After checking the character's sexual orientation, Joe added that "there have been innuendo about the sexuality of other characters."
But as far as whoever he was talking about, Joe stayed pretty mum.

"We will know," he said, without naming anyone at the request of a host "who else is gay?"
"There's a gay character in one of their movies," said Joe, adding that he was expecting Marvel to make an announcement about it, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige highlighted the subject last year, the point of sale said. Two roles, "the two you saw and the ones you did not see," would be identified as gay, he said at the time.
