LENOIR COUNTY, NC (WITN) – A fox found last week in Lenoir County turns out to have rabies.
The Lenoir County Health Department says they have been affected by erratic behavior.
The rabid fox was found near Darden Drive, which is just south of Kinston.
An animal control officer may also be affected by the condition of the family. None were found.
"We wanted to know that they could have an animal that could be rabid," said health director Pamela Brown.
This is the first confirmed rabies case in Lenoir County this year.
