The comedian and ABC signed Tuesday a new contract that will keep him as host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" for the next three seasons.

Jimmy Kimmel also fails to talk about TV shows instead of Trump

Kimmel, who is in his 17th season, is one of the oldest TV hosts. The new contract will lead him through his 20th season.

He has become one of the most outstanding names in the late evening in recent years because of his dynamism and activism.

Kimmel's emotional monologues about health care and gun violence often become viral the next day. The official YouTube page of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has 14 million subscribers.

He also organized the Primetime Emmy Awards and Oscars for ABC.

The host joined other late-night people who signed contracts in the 2020 elections.

Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers of NBC are both under contract until 2021 and Trevor Noah, the host of "The Daily Show", will be on Comedy Central until 2022.
Kimmel told CNN Business in October that the late-night comedy had changed in recent years.

"The news of the day, every day, is about Donald Trump," said Kimmel. "I always look at my job as a person who comments on the news of the day, you dine and everyone talks about it, before everyone was talking about Netflix all the time, Donald Trump replaced it."
