With the NBA Lottery fully behind them, the Los Angeles Lakers began doing their homework to determine the best way forward to use choice number 4 which miraculously fell into their hands.
The NBA reconciliation project is already underway and, as one of the most polarizing participants, Duke's Cam Reddish will be a lightning rod. As if that was not enough to move the masses, apparently, the Lakers have already spoken.
Cam Reddish has already met the Lakers. I asked who was at the meeting and he replied "Everyone, you call it" https://t.co/gy0UlruWJr

The reddish does not really make sense for the Lakers given its dull year at Duke, so maybe it was just due diligence?
Cam Reddish has received comments that indicate he plans to go from 3 to 7 years in the NBA project, he says.

Oh no. I beg you, no.
After further review, Cam Reddish said he had received information indicating that he would go within a range of 3 to 10. I apologize for my bad hearing. He met the #Bullswhose choice is # 7.

Well at least it widens a little scope.
The Lakers desperately need to add offensive threats this off season, well, Reddish is just not that. In 36 games for Duke, he shot a meager 35.6% of the field and 33.3% of the three-point distance (out of 7.4 attempts per game). He shot 77.2% of the free throw line, which can sometimes be a good indicator of shooting ability, but it's only 3.2 attempts by the charity per game.
Of course, shooting is not everything for prospects, but given the obvious need of the Lakers in this regard, it makes no sense to move to Reddish with the fourth choice.
What is a bit worrisome is how much the role and effect that the reddish on such an inexperienced front office could have a reddish tone. At 6'8 "and 218 pounds (by basketball reference) and is a good athlete, he really looks like the party and will probably dazzle in an individual workout.
The reddish is essentially the basketball version of Blake Bortles. He checks a lot of boxes that may seem important at the time, but then goes to the field / field and … it's Blake Bortles.
Fortunately, the Lakers have a very good screening department. Hoping they rely on it and make a better choice than Reddish where they work.
