About last night …
Game 4: Boston Bruins 4, Carolina Hurricanes 0 (Bruins win 4-0 series)

Let's be honest: The Canes telegraphed the mental exhaustion of the last days and a win in Boston is inevitable after the Bruins game 3 in Raleigh. In the fourth match, Carolina could not stand any pressure. The Canes only had four shots in the second period, including a 14-minute stretch without any, and then scored none for more than half of the third period.
-
Tuukka Rask (a shutout 24 game in Game 4) has reached an elite level of performance, which now represents two shutouts.
-
Canes' special teams were a handicap; Boston was great.
Three stars
1. Patrice Bergeron, C, Boston Bruins. Two goals and help from Bergeron guided the Bruins on Thursday. In the last seven games, the first line is 11-0 in goals against goals, with 77% of the shot attempts being very dangerous, according to Natural Stat Trick.
2. David Pastrnak, LW, Boston Bruins. Pastrnak added a goal and two assists. His one-timer, taken from a Brad Marchand food, was a clinic.

3. Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins. Once the Bruins scored their second goal, they were confident that they would win. It was out of the question that the Canes scored three goals on Rask after the accuracy of his series.

The top Bruins were guilty of trying to be a bit too cute – and to make too many passes – on a few occasions in the first period. It finally worked for them with this great goal in the second period.
Dud of the night

After match 3, Carolina defender Dougie Hamilton admitted that canes power games had not been good "for a while." They did not have time to fix it for the fourth game.
Carolina had a power play of only 1 in 14 on this series (7.1%) and finished the playoffs 5-52 (9.6%).
(The Bruins, meanwhile, were 7 for 15 in the series, converting at a rate of nearly 43%.)
On the calendar
San Jose Sharks at St. Louis Blues, Game 4, 8 pm ET (Sharks Lead Series 2-1)
Was not it a cruel way for the St. Louis Blues to lose, not to concede a goal on the overtime winner in the third game? Yes. Will it change? The Blues need a mental reset. they can not lament what has already been done. The players told reporters in the day off that they would not wallow but it's easier said than done.
St. Louis can be without defender Vince Dunn, who is injured his upper body daily (he had a breakout season and scored points on the power play). A positive for San Jose? Erik Karlsson finally broke his scoreless goal series, scoring his first goal in more than five months – a 31-game non-stop.

There is little in the sport as pure as the playoff line.
