Traveling in time can be a complicated thing. There have been a lot of stories about people going in the past to influence the future and there were just as many sets of different rules on how this trip back in time was supposed to work. Comic strip stories are not over time travel and their cinematographic counterparts have followed suit.

In the epic conclusion of the Infinity saga of Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame, time travel played a key role in the loss of the deadly Thanos cliché. This meant that not only had the Avengers visited their past adventures, but that through confusion involving the Hulk and Loki, they had also managed to create alternative chronologies, as the Ancient One explained. One of the big Endgame shocks occurred when Steve Rogers made a detour at the end of his quest to bring the stones back to their original place in time. This last trip was meant to fulfill the promise he made in 1945 to Peggy Carter to come back to dance that dance that he had missed when he had saved the world of Hydra for the first time. But has he created another reality through which he could marry Peggy Carter or is there actually two Captain Americas simultaneously existing in the MCU unit all the time? Let's see how Captain America managed to co-exist alongside a retired Steve Rogers in the Marvel Film Universe.
