The bachelor's degree Chris Soules delayed at the last minute

COUNTY BUCHANAN, Iowa (KCRG) – Former single Chris Soules will be waiting another day to learn his sentence for a fatal accident.

Soules was initially charged with a felony tort offense, but pleaded guilty in November to a lesser charge of an offense of injury and incurs up to two years in prison. A new date for sentencing has not been set.

Soules drove when his truck hit a tractor in rural Buchanan in April 2017. Kenneth Mosher, a 66-year-old farmer, died in this accident. Soules called 911 and practiced CPR on Mosher, but left before the arrival of law enforcement officers. He was arrested at home a few hours later.

The judge said that Mosher's death would not be a factor in his sentence, as Soules had not pleaded guilty to a crime related to his death. This meant that she would disregard the statements of the Mosher family in the victim's statement contained in a preliminary inquiry.

As a result, Soules' lawyers reiterated their appeals to delay sentencing in order to redo the pre-sentencing investigation, used to assist in sentencing, without including factors related to the sentence. Death of Mosher. The judge rejected this request in a motion filed late last week.
