The playing period of Adam "Pacman" Jones is over.
The former Bengals cornerback has unofficially announced his retirement on social media this week, showing a
Bentley "retirement gift"
and republish a series of congratulatory notes to
his Instagram story.
Jones, now 35, was a first-round pick for the Tennessee Titans in 2005. He had 11.3 yards in 63 punt return returns (with four touchdowns) and a 26.2-yard average. Punt returns in two seasons with the Titans before missing a season for violating the NFL's personal driving policy.
After one season with Dallas and another missed season, Jones landed with the Bengals in 2010. He stayed in Cincinnati for eight years, achieving the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015. He averaged 11.3 yards on the returns from punt and 26.4 yards on kickoff returns, and made a total of 366 tackles.
But Jones was also known for his controversies off the field during his career. He pleaded guilty in 2017 to obstructing official activities after
fought a security guard
in front of a downtown hotel. In 2015, he was escorted from the Hollywood Casino, but was not charged. More recently, Jones
has made an advocacy agreement
in March after being accused of cheating at the Rising Star Casino.
Jones signed a one-year contract
with the broncos
last season he worked under Vance Joseph, with whom he had worked before when Joseph worked for the Bengals. He appeared in just seven games and started only two.
