Omaha, Neb. – Jordan Nwogu had three hits and scored four points to help Michigan defeat Nebraska, 18-8, in the semi-final of the Big Ten tournament on Saturday.
The teams will play again later on Saturday, with the winner qualifying for the championship game on Sunday.
Jack Blomgren and Christan Bullock both had three hits for the Wolverines (41-17).
BOX SCORE: Michigan 18, Nebraska 8
Michigan scored seven points on eight hits at the start of the first run, including three before Nebraska registered a withdrawal. Blomgren had the only extra-base goal of the round, a double-footed Nwogu.
Reece Eddins, a Nebraska star, lasted only one inning. He gave eight points on nine hits. The Cornhuskers took a 9-0 lead before recovering with two points in the fourth and fifth innings.
Michigan rebounded with six points in the sixth, highlighted by the two-point Nwogu circuit.
Angelo Altavilla had three hits for Nebraska, fifth seeded (30-21).
