Gerard Pique thinks that Barcelona would have won the Champions League and Copa del Rey if it had not been beaten by Liverpool.
The spectacular return to Anfield ensured Liverpool's place in the Champions League final and Valencia added to Barcelona's woes on Saturday with its own victory over the Catalan giants.
Valencia surprised Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final with a 2-1 win and Pique thinks his team's hopes of winning a triple winning campaign have derailed at Anfield.
He said: "If we had succeeded at Anfield, I am confident that we would have won the hat-trick, we would have come here against the sensations and we would have won the final of the Champions League.
"We are very injured and we have to bear the torrential rain.
'The team is injured, we did not hope to finish like that two weeks ago. We opted for the hat-trick and today we leave alone with La Liga.
"The last 15 days have not gone up to Barcelona, but you do not have to make bad decisions."
Kevin Gameiro and Rodrigo scored for Valencia against Barcelona, while the underdogs prevented the La Liga champions from winning their fifth Copa del Rey in a row.
Lionel Messi scored a goal for Barcelona, but Valencia held up well to win his first major silver piece since the Copa del Rey trophy was lifted in 2008.
The defeat in Valencia again raises questions about Ernesto Valverde's position in the club, but the manager refused to comment on his future after the match.
And the Barcelona boss also insisted that the result at Anfield was not at the origin of the defeat against Valencia.
"We lost, but not because of a psychological problem," he said at his press conference after the match.
"It's different from the game we played a fortnight ago, but we still lost, that's the reality, the feeling.
"We could not meet our expectations: we celebrated the league title, we thought we could do a hat-trick and we stayed on the road at the decisive moment of the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
"You have a bad feeling because we created this expectation and it did not happen that way, we are here to win titles and nothing else."
