The recently released video shows an officer from the Newton area being shot while pursuing a fugitive suspect.

It all began on April 20th around 9:20 pm When officers assigned to the Newton Gang Detail Police Department saw a vehicle passing in front of a stop sign and attempted to stop the driver. Officers followed the driver to a housing complex located in the 51st Street district, west of Holmes Avenue.

It was at this point that the driver got out of the car and fled on foot. Agents have started chasing the real estate complex. During the pursuit on foot, a second man, seen in the recently released video, approached the agents and opened fire.
