In Germany, the elections for the 2019 European Parliament elections are now closed and polling results at the polls are available. And the conservatives Angela Merkel are ahead. These figures are based on interviews with voters at the time of their departure from polling stations and not on the actual count of votes, which will come later:
The CDU-CSU of Chancellor Angela Merkel takes 28%, down 7.4 points.
The center left SPD is at 15.5%, down 11.8%
Green Party ecologists hope to win 22% of the vote, with an increase of more than 11 percentage points.
The AfD, the populist alternative of the far right for Germany, stands at 10.5%, representing an increase of 3.4 percentage points.
The FDP of the free market seems to take 5.5%.
The left party also has 5.5%.
That leaves 13% to the other parties in Germany in this European election.
