Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa revealed that he did not have enough energy to go home after playing Khal Drogo on the HBO show.

The 39-year-old actor posted a photo back on his Instagram account, sharing the moment after finishing filming Game of Thrones in Ireland, but was "too broke to take the plane for go home".

Jason was there at the beginning of the popular series, his character appearing only in the first round.

And yet, being stuck in Ireland has not baffled him, and with his "best friend" Brian Andrew Mendoza – who runs the production company Pride of Gypsies – they bought a van and went on a journey in search from the "best pint of Guinness."

After playing the husband of Daenerys Targaryen during the first season, the actor revealed on the Instagram blog that he had "so much homesickness".

This feeling was slightly betrayed by the accompanying photo, which showed the smiling Aquaman actor at the back of the van in which he was living at the time.

Subtitling the photo, Jason wrote, "Looking through my phone, I found this." Off the road, a quiet parking at donegal.

"It was a simple and incredible moment with my best friend @captainriff while shooting US we had a little break.

"We had to take a break to get home, so we rented a van, aka UHAUL, to Belfast and drove into a wonderful and amazing IRELAND looking for the biggest pint of Guinness."

The actor continued: "It turns out that it is perfect everywhere.

"So many wonderful people and stories that I cherish these moments are the simplest moments I remember most.

"I still miss my family, the road has been long and I feel like I'm just starting, I have to go home, Ps asks Brian for more pictures, he has gold, Aloha j."

Jason regularly comments on the story of Game of Thrones, which has developed over the eight seasons. He admits that Dany's shift to the dark side has deeply affected him.

Drogo was the Dothraki leader with Daenerys his "Khaleesi" and when she was finally murdered by Jon Snow in the last episode, Jason said it "was killing him too".

When the character died in the arms of his lover, Jason commented on a post from Daenerys' actress, Emilia Clarke: "Baby, this episode killed me."

He then followed this with two heart emojis before adding later: "I love you madly."

Jason has joined the superhero universe since his stint in Game of Thrones and has received many accolades for his performance of Aquaman in the film of the same name in 2018.
