Investigators looking for a missing 5-year-old girl in Utah believe that Elizabeth "Lizzy" Shelley is hurt, although they do not know her exact condition, revealed Tuesday the police.

The police found "several objects of interest near the home," the police added. They said the items had been tested and showed "forensic evidence from Elizabeth Shelley, 5 years old".
Whipple was found in a rural area about fifteen kilometers from the family home and was arrested on Saturday afternoon. The police said he was combative and that he "had not managed to identify and that he had been given a warrant for not stopping To be brought to probation for his recent charges of stolen property and driving under influence ". He was detained on a probation violation and was not charged with Shelley's disappearance.
Whipple was denied bail on Tuesday during a hearing in Logan during which he appeared by video.

The police in Logan City testified that when Whipple was interrogated by detectives, he "made several inconsistent statements at the very beginning and lied about where he was, which was already known."

Several search warrants were obtained and executed Sunday night "on several crime scenes and in the custody of the person of Alex Whipple," wrote the police of the city of Logan on the Facebook page of the department. Whipple has a criminal record that includes an assault involving domestic violence, possession of a stolen vehicle and drug related charges.
Police in the city of Logan said several agencies, including more than 200 local, provincial and federal police, as well as dozens of search and rescue officers, continued to work day and night trying to locate Shelley .
Ongoing research has been concentrated on an area of one and a half kilometers around the family home in Logan, in a scenic mountain valley near the border with Idaho, about 80 kilometers north of Salt Lake City.
The police continued to ask the public whether they had seen Whipple or Shelley on Saturday to contact them. They also asked locals to check their yards, buildings and garbage for anything they did not recognize.
The Logan City Police Department thanked the community for its continued support. They published photos of all supplies donated by local people and businesses on the ministry's Facebook page.
