You know what would be cool?
If AEW could succeed or fail on its own merits, without being compared to what the WWE does. If AEW can be congratulated for what it does well without this being the result of a bad act done by the WWE. If we could criticize him for doing something wrong without it being the result of something that WWE did well. If it could just exist in its own space without all that everyone involved in the promotion was saying or somehow coming back to WWE.
I understand that AEW is giving a bit of a stir by making this war a "war", but this is just a marketing strategy designed to appeal to fans. That does not mean you have to take part, says the fan. You are not from one side, you are the consumer you are selling. You may like or dislike any company for any reason, but it is neither logical nor present to dislike either company simply because you like the other.
This new "war" fight could be great for fans in terms of entertainment value but it could be awful for fan talk.
It would be cool if it is not. So far, it does not look so good.
