The 100 Sneak Peek: Russell and Simone discuss Gabriel's children
At the CMA Summit in April, Fear the undead Co-host Ian Goldberg said some walker "would open a world of possibilities" in season 5 of the Walking Dead spin off. We met this walker at the premiere, and Goldberg was not exaggerating: the walker, while alive, was part of the same mysterious group that had brought Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) into a helicopter The dead who walk, the flight which will in turn lead to the first of Rick Grimes' derivative films. The proof is the symbol of three nested circles, appeared both on the helicopter and on the uniform and equipment of the dead.

And this walker was not alone; at least one other member of the group is alive in Texas and has taken prisoner Al (Maggie Grace).
We still do not know who the helicopter people are, what they want or what this three-ring symbol means, but we will soon shed light on the subject. All we know for sure, is what we saw. Here's what happened: after Al landed on the group's plane, attracting the attention of walkers from all over the world, she had a curious meeting with one of them. This walker was dressed in a particular black uniform that looked like a guy. Star wars stormtrooper joined a group of bikers with an intimidating mask and helmet and without strokes on the head. She tried to stab him in the skull, but the helmet was solid. She then hit him at a post that protruded from the ground, which immobilized him but did not kill him. She took out her camera and filmed it a bit before going to help the rest of the group. Later, she saw her pictures and told Morgan (Lennie James) that they should return to check this walker very soon.
"There is a story here," she says. "I know that my tapes have not been used to help us so far, but this one could be."
Morgan said to wait, so Al returned alone later in the night. She noticed that the uniform was equipped with electric cables, and then she found a pouch containing her belongings. It contained a paper map and clear plastic cards that looked like county boundaries or zone boundaries or something of the sort, both stamped with intertwined rings. She called on Morgan Radio: "I was right, there is a story here", then another man in the same uniform hit her from behind with a stun gun and knocked her out . He took his camera and examined the situation, and then the episode ended.
Fear the undead Boss Says Season 5 takes a page from Indiana Jones
The implications of the appearance of the group of three rings on Fear the undead are huge. This means that they are operational over a very large part of the country, since at least the Pacific region where The dead who walk is set in Texas the house of Fear. We had never seen them before, so we now know for sure that their technological progress is not limited to their helicopter, but also to their high-tech uniforms. The uniforms could be more proof that they are from the Commonwealth, a large community in the Walking Dead comics that are far more advanced in the process of rebuilding society than all those we have seen so far in the series. They have a standing army whose soldiers wear high tech uniforms.
It also opens the possibility that the characters of Fear could one day meet Rick Grimes. Al will probably not be taken where Rick and Jadis have gone, because we see in the trailer that she's finally returning to Morgan's, but she will certainly learn about the Three Rings on our behalf. She is a journalist, after all. And she's definitely an "A", not a "B", no matter what it means. But maybe Morgan can one day help his old friend Rick Grimes again. Morgan loses people, then gets lost, while Rick finds them. The possibility of meeting is now open. Or we could just have clues about Rick Grimes' position when we find him.
Fear the undead broadcasts on Sundays at 9am / 8c on AMC. Previous seasons are available to broadcast on Hulu.
