The White House's senior advisor, Jared Kushner, defended President Trump against accusations of racism.
Axios journalist, Jonathan Swan, sat down with Trump's son-in-law for an extensive debate that aired Sunday on HBO.
Swan said the rookie of Alexandria, Ocasio-Cortez, Republican, described Trump as racist and asked Kushner if he had ever seen the president say anything or do anything racist or fanatic.
"So the answer is no, absolutely not," he said. "You can not be racist until you're 69, then run for president and be racist."
Kushner said Democrats calling Trump racist "hurt those who suffer from real racism in this country."

Swan also asked Kushner if "birtherism", a move that questioned US citizenship of former President Barack Obama and his eligibility for presidency, was racist. The "BIRther" movement had a lawyer in Trump until he admitted, during the presidential campaign, that Obama was born in the United States.
"I was not really involved in that," said Kushner at each of the first two times.
At the third event, Kushner said, "Look, I know who the president is and I did not see anything racist about him, and again, I did not participate in that."
Swan added that, according to critics, Trump had campaigned to ban Muslims from leaving the United States.
"Would you describe that as a religious fanatic?" He asked.
After saying that Trump "had conducted his campaign as he had done", Kushner dodged when asked if he wished his father-in-law would conduct his campaign differently.
"I think he's here today and I think he's doing a lot of good things for the country, and that's what I'm proud of," he said. he declares.
