Square Enix revealed Dragon Quest Walk, a brand new entry in the series developed for smartphones. Just like Pokémon GOThis game uses your position to bring elements of the Dragon Quest universe into your area.

The game was developed by the Japanese mobile studio Colopl – the company that Nintendo has filed in court for several patents in the game – and is expected to launch in Japan later this year. It makes you walk in the real world, talk to the townspeople, fight against monsters, prepare equipment, etc. There is also a story mode that develops as you walk and play.

The game was revealed at a press conference Square Enix today (and the title was the first time teased a little over a week ago). At the same conference, the executive producer of the Dragon Quest series, Yu Miyake, also spoke about a neighbor Dragon Quest XII.

He said: "By the way, about Dragon Quest XII, which certainly worries everyone …[Yuji] Horii and I are preparing the serial developments that will be connected to the XII. I think it's still too early, but we'd like to announce it in one form or another, so wait a bit longer "(thanks, Gematsu).
