LocalBitcoins, a Helsinki-based counterpart exchange, would have removed the option to allow users to buy or sell crypto-currencies in person for cash.
In one Reddit after Sunday, a LocalBitcoins user pointed out that the option was no longer available on the platform, although some comments suggested that the restriction could be restricted to the United States.
The removal of the option – which serves as an intermediary for users to conduct transactions in person – effectively prevents LocalBitcoin users from selling and buying bitcoins for cash. LocalBitcoins also canceled pending cash transactions, others comments to suggest.
The platform has not yet officially announced the change on his blog or Twitter feed.
In response to the move, LocalEthereum ad temporarily eliminated spot trading fees – from June 1 st to July 1 st.
The move of LocalBitcoins comes after the company ad in February that it would comply with the new EU directive on money laundering.
Several other P2P trading platforms using cryptocurrency still offer an in-person payment option.
