Apple announced today that its new Mac Pro starts at $ 6,000, which is already expensive, but the company failed to mention the cost of the high-end model. So we looked for parts equivalent to the high-end specifications promised by Apple. As it stands: $ 33,720.88 is probably the the bare minimum – and this before taking into account the four GPUs, which could easily raise this price to about $ 45,000.
Still, big-budget video editors and other creatives benefit from a lot of punching power: a 28-core Intel Xeon W processor, a nearly incomprehensible 1.5TB hard drive, four AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo AMD GPUs – assuming you can afford it.
Add an XDR Pro Display monitor (and Pro support to accompany it), and you plan to have a workstation that can save $ 50,000. Also, do not forget that these estimates are based on market prices for these parts (or similar parts): Apple has always charged a lot more for its predefined configurations than for a computer that you build yourself.
Here's how everything breaks down.
One (1) Mac Pro: $ 6,000
We start with the basic Mac Pro itself, which we know Apple is selling from $ 6,000 for the base model. Since you can not buy a single enclosure, this price also includes items such as the motherboard, power supply, heat sink, cooling system, and chassis (optional wheels may cost more) . It will probably come with a processor, a GPU and RAM, but we will soon replace them.

The simplest thing on our shopping list is the RAM. The new Mac Pro has 12 user-accessible DIMM slots that use DDR4 ECC memory. Now, Apple's processor is probably not the W-3275M (Apple quotes a much larger cache size, for starters), but the rest of the spec is pretty close.
Two (2) AMD Radeon Pro Vega II graphics processors: Unknown price, but say $ 12,000, minimum
Here is the most delicate part. AMD has announced its Radeon Pro Vega II GPUs alongside the Mac Pro, which means we do not know how much it will cost to buy them. We do not know if you can even buy them separately. Depending on how Apple's MDX Module works, it may not be an option.
Apple will sell you up to four Vega GPUs in total: two Vega II Duo cards, each with two GPUs, linked together by Apple's Infinity Fabric Link link via two Apple MDX modules. Whatever the total, it will not be cheap.
Assuming that the price of the Vega II by AMD is comparable to Nvidia's professional-grade Quadro RTX offerings, however, the Quadro RTX 6000, for example, costs $ 6,300 with only a little more computation than what Apple promised, we will say that Apple's solution will cost at least $ 12,000 for the entire quad-GPU package. Add the MDX modules and Apple's markup, though, and we would not be totally surprised if it was double.

Technically, it is an optional accessory, but it comes from Apple and I include it here. I do not know how much it will cost, though.
One (1) Apple Pro Display XDR Monitor: $ 5,000
Apple has announced the XDR Pro Display Pro alongside the new Mac Pro. Of course, you can use a cheaper (and less) screen, but the XDR Pro Display has been specifically designed to be paired with the Mac Pro. So you will probably want to choose one. Or six. He supports six.
