A hungry alligator crashed in front of a Florida lake during a picnic and engulfed an entire bowl of guacamole. Taylor Forte planned a picnic Thursday for her fiance Trevor Walters at Alice Lake, before Walters left for the Marines.
Walters told CBS subsidiary Gainesville, Florida, WGFL-TV, that they had been shocked and had fled the blanket when the animal had sprinted on the beach. "He wiped out a whole block of cheese, he sank it, divided it into pieces, salami has no chance," Walters told the chain.
"The worst part is that we made a big bowl of guac," Walters said. "He's eating the whole bowl, he's put the whole bowl in his mouth."
The man wanted to make the gator flee, so he got taller, spreading his arms and making noise. The gator crawled in the water.
It is unusual for alligators to become so comfortable with humans that they approach them without fear. "Unfortunately, it seems that Gator has been fed before and has lost his weariness and is starting to associate people with food," Karen Parker, public information coordinator for Florida Fish, told WGFL-TV. and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The board usually eliminates alligators if they charge people, which, according to Parker, is all the more likely that visitors feed the animal.
"We call our trappers and they catch the manager who is causing problems," said Parker. "They keep the gator for his skin and meat."
