Netflix commissioned a second season of the black comedy "Dead to Me".
The stars of the series, Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, will be back as Jen and Judy respectively, while series creator Liz Feldman will be back as a spectator. The show follows Jen, a sardonic widow intent on solving the upside-down murder of her husband, and Judy, an optimistic free spirit who has recently suffered her own tragic loss. When the two women meet in a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their opposing personalities. But while they're bound, Judy desperately tries to protect Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.
Feldman and Applegate are executive producers of "Dead to Me", alongside Jessica Elbaum of Gloria Sanchez Productions and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay of Gary Sanchez Productions. Christie Smith also produces frames. CBS Televisions Studios produced.
The reviews were pretty positive for the series. The first season got an approval rate of 87% for rotten tomatoes. In his criticism for VarietyCaroline Framke wrote: "It is undeniably exciting to see Cardellini and Applegate, two rock-solid TV veterans who have rarely achieved roles worthy of their skills, are playing each other and retrieving information that calls for them. as.
