Get ready for less retail space and more room for health services in any of your local CVS stores.

CVS Health is about to expand its health care concept store to 1,500 sites by the end of 2021, the company said on Tuesday.

The pharmacy chain launched the concept store, called HealthHUB, in the Houston area earlier this year.

The premise stems from the company's efforts to reduce its reliance on retail sales and to increase its commitment to healthcare services. The company recently closed 46 distressed stores, competing with Amazon and other competitors for retail.

It also reduces floor space for slow selling items like greeting cards and adds space in hundreds of stores for the SmileDirectClub teeth smoothing service.

In health centers, more than 20% of the floor space is devoted to health services such as well-being and personalized care.

CVS CEO Larry Merlo told USA TODAY in November that he plans to move more sales space for the benefit of health.

The company said on Tuesday that the new HealthHUB health centers will be deployed in Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, southern New Jersey and Tampa.
