Tinder now allows people to identify their sexual orientation

Tinder now lets people identify their sexual orientation on the application of dating and gives priority to people with the same orientations. Users can choose up to three terms from among the initial nine options – heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual, demisexual, pansexual, queer and questioning – and they can then decide if they wish this orientation to appear in their profile.

Current users will have to edit their profile to add an orientation, while new users will be asked to do so during the integration. Anyone can change their discovery preferences to choose to see people in the same orientation first. The feature is being rolled out on iOS and Android in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, India, Australia and New Zealand this month.

Users have always been able to specify whether they wish to see men, women or both, and the application also allowed for gender identification, but until now, the users people could not specify their sexual orientation. Tinder still does not allow users to define their pronoun, but it's nice to see the app take the focus into account and give people the ability to match their pronoun.
