It turns out that Sara Gilbert does not like talking too much about her personal life on the air.

The star of "Conners", who announced in April that she was leaving "The Talk" of CBS, which she created, shared with Variety's podcast "My Favorite Episode" that she was happy to let the intimate broadcast chats behind her.

"There is relief and we say," Wow, if I live something in my personal life now, I do not have to talk about it, "she said." It's an effort for me, because I have never been a very public person. I think I got on the show to try to push the boundaries of this genre and grow spiritually and psychologically, but I agree to let that piece of it go. "

When Gilbert, 44, revealed his departure on "The Talk", she called it an "extremely difficult" decision to make.

She explained that her demanding schedule had created an imbalance between her work and her personal life, affecting her three children – her sons Levi, 14, and Rhodes, 4, and her daughter Sawyer, 11.

She said on the Variety podcast that "Something had to give."

"I've been lucky to be on the talk show for nine years, which is why I think it's the right decision:" OK, I did that. And I thoroughly explored that, "she said," and now it's time to do other creative projects. "

"The Conners", the "Roseanne" resulting from Roseanne Barr's ouster, was renewed for a second season in March. Although Gilbert revealed on "My Favorite Episode" the actors and producers "were all scared" about the fallout.

"It was definitely a risk of coming back. And we did not know how it was going to happen, "she said. We did not know how the exams would go. "

After the warm reception of the show, Gilbert felt more confident.

"We just thought," wow, "we did it one way or another," she said. "It was not an easy decision to take at any level, I think a lot of the actors had a little tussle in their heads."

For the series, Gilbert resumes his role as Darlene, daughter of Dan and Roseanne Conner, and is executive producer.

When season 10 of "The Talk" starts in September, Marie Osmond will take Gilbert's place at the table with current co-presenters Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve and Carrie Ann Inaba.
