David Crosby answers questions about prison, infidelity, trump: Look – Rolling Stone

David Crosby might not seem to be the obvious candidate for a board columnist. After all, he's a man who has abused almost all the drugs in the world, alienated most of his former classmates and spent time in a Texas jail. But we approached him to be the spearhead of this column, because he learned the many mistakes of his past and is now filled with hard-won wisdom. He also recorded some of the best music of his career, during a tour of the United States, and the subject of Cameron Crowe's documentary. Remember my name.

For the first Ask Croz column, we had the chance to meet Crosby in person and ask him about a video he had never seen before. His answers here have all been delivered on site without a moment's foresight. The topics covered range from tips for surviving prison to managing infidelity, to a partner who supports Donald Trump and competes with female musicians. He has never flinched on any issue, as scandalous or weird as it is.

This is only the beginning of Ask Crosby, so keep sending your questions. You can post them on Twitter with the #AskCroz hashtag or email them to [email protected]. Just be sure to ask for concrete advice. We received lots of letters asking him how was Woodstock playing or whether he thought CSNY would reform someday or not. These are legitimate questions for an interview, but what we are doing here is simply giving people the advice of a man who has survived all that life can do to him. He has lived to tell the story and he wants to help people do the same. So, get started with questions about life tips. Cruz is waiting to line them up.
