The mayor of South Bend, in Indiana, spoke Sunday at a fundraiser in Palo Alto, when a girl asked him how he would beat Trump in the 2020 election.
"The most important thing is that we can not play his game." You know how bad he really is? He likes to call people like names, "he said.
"If we do it in his own way, I think we're going to lose, so we have to change the whole game."

Buttigieg said he hoped voters would "think about the type of person they would like to see occupying the Oval Office" and the "values" that the President of the United States should defend when they vote. .
He then asked the girl if she understood the idea of opposites, saying repeatedly in politics that voters want a candidate very different from that of the president in office.
"One of the reasons we think I'm the best candidate to beat Trump is that I'm quite the opposite," he said, laughing and applauding participants.
