The Philadelphia Phillies member's leave of absence, Odubel Herrera, was extended until June 17, Major League Baseball reported Monday.
Herrera was arrested last Monday at the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City and charged with simple assault and bodily harm as a result of an incident involving his girlfriend.
He is scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
According to a police report obtained by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Herrera left "hand prints" on his girlfriend's neck and "small scratches" on his arms.
Herrera, 27, hits .222 with a home run and 16 RBIs this season.
