Dallas is shaken by a series of deadly attacks against transgender women. But the violence can go back earlier

The leader pledged an aggressive investigation into Lindsey's murder and urged the community to remain vigilant. The FBI says it's ready to participate in the investigation.

"The FBI is determined to investigate all crimes committed by the federal government and to provide assistance to its local partners when requested," said the agency's office in Dallas in a statement. "If, during the local investigation, information reveals a possible violation of civil rights by the federal government, the FBI is ready to help."

Edward Thomas was arrested in connection with Booker's assault in April, but Weddington said he was not related to his murder. Thomas's lawyers, Andrew Wilkerson and Michael Campbell Jr., stated that he had nothing to do with his death and that the alleged assault was not a crime motivated by the hatred.

"We do not doubt that the truth will be revealed in this situation after a thorough investigation," said the prosecutor.

An unidentified victim aged 26

"Fortunately, the victim in this case survived his attack and provided the detectives with a description of the suspect," he said. "Detectives work diligently to determine if there are any links with other investigations."

Brittany White

On October 21 of last year, Brittany White was found shot in her vehicle and the police have no suspects, said Weddington.

Weddington did not provide detailed details about White's murder, but he said after Booker's death that two of the crimes had similarities.

"In the course of these investigations, the detectives learned that, in addition to all the victims, there were transgender women, two of the victims were in the Spring Avenue and Lagow Street neighborhood before the offenses", did he declare. "Everyone needs to be vigilant and pay close attention to their surroundings when they are in public, and use caution when interacting socially," said Weddington.

Nicole Hall

It is not clear whether Hall's death is classified in the category of homicides, but uncertainty as to the cause of his disappearance has shaken the LGBTQ community of the city, as well as 39 it occurred just days after the strangulation of another transgender woman.

A man from Seabrook, Texas, was arrested during a traffic stop on May 17, 2018 after police found in his car items that belonged to Flores-Pavon, KTVT reported. Police said Flores-Pavon had met the 25-year-old man in an online discussion forum.

He is being held on bail of $ 500,000, charged with murder.

Another unidentified victim

This was the first of what Weddington said to be the four outstanding cases. The details are thin.

In July 2017, the remains of a transgender woman were found in a field, but the cause of death was undetermined and he was classified as unexplained death, according to police.

Schuler's body, aged 22, was found on the morning of July 29, 2015 in a field on the west side of the city, according to police, who said the information available about the crime was minimal.

The authorities initially identified Schuler as a black man and asked the public for help to find his killer, but four years later, the homicide was still not resolved.
