Say hello to SpongeBob SquarePants, 10 years old!
By Adam Bankhurst
Nickelodeon has announced that it has announced a series of SpongeBob SquarePants preprogram series in 13 episodes, titled Kamp Koral, who will present a 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer vacation camp.
The production of this new series will begin this month at Nickelodeon in Burbank, California, and the official description of the exhibit reads: "SpongeBob and his friends spend the summer building underwater lights, catch wild jellyfish and swim in Yuckymuck Lake in the craziest camp of the kelp forest, Kamp Koral. "
"SpongeBob has an incredible universe to develop and Kamp Koral's go-ahead shows the strength and longevity of these characters known and loved by generations of fans around the world," said Ramsey Naito, Vice President, Production and animation development, Nickelodeon.
Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, both veterans of Bob Sponge, are the co-executive producers of the series. The month of June will only be produced in June, but SpongeBob SquarePants will celebrate its 17th birthday on July 17th.
News of the spin-offs and a new special television number commemorating the 20th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants were revealed earlier this year, under the name of "Best Year Ever".
According to Nickelodeon, the "best year of all time" is expected to culminate with the release date of the May 22, 2020 SpongeBob movie: it's a wonderful sponge.
